Election dates announced in five states-2022
Today, the Election Commission has announced the dates for the Legislative Assembly elections to be held in five states on Saturday, 08/01/2022. With this announcement, the election code of conduct in these states also came into force.

Which states have elections

Elections in these states will be held in 7 phases. The first phase of elections will begin on February 10 from Uttar Pradesh. On March 10, the election results of all the states will be declared simultaneously.
In view of the increasing outbreak of Corona, everyone’s eyes were towards the Election Commission. Finally today the Election Commission said that the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections to be held in five states will be conducted under strict restrictions with the Corona protocol.

Rally will not be allowed
With this, the Election Commission said that till January 15, no road show, rally, foot march, cycle and scooter rally will be allowed. That is, now political parties will work to woo voters only through virtual rallies. No person shall take out a victory procession after the victorious results.
What Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said
Chief Election Commissioner of India Sushil Chandra made it clear that elections will be held on 690 assembly seats in five states. A total of 18.34 crore voters will vote in the election. In view of the increasing outbreak of Corona, strict protocols will be implemented. At the same time, the duty of election workers will be taken, who will have both doses of corona vaccine. Precaution doses will also be applied to those who need it.

Five main things
1- Elections will be held with the new protocol.
2- Corona infected patients will be able to vote by postal ballot.
3- 16% booths have been increased as compared to earlier. There will be a total of over 2.15 lakh polling stations.
4- The number of voters in a polling booth will be from 1200 to 1500 only.
5- The increase in the maximum limit of election expenditure for political parties has also been given. Now in big states you can spend up to 40 lakhs.
Guidelines set for political parties
1- Programs related to political parties will be videographed.
2- All political parties will declare the criminal record of their candidates.
3- Along with this, the candidate himself will also have to tell his criminal record.
4- In these three states – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand, the election expenditure limit will be 40 lakhs.
5- The election expenditure limit in these two states will be 28 lakhs – Manipur and Goa
