In response to UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s statement that Indians make up the ‘biggest group of people who overstay” their visas in the UK, the Indian High Commission in the UK issued a statement.

The Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom stated that India had taken action in all cases brought to its attention under the Migration and Mobility Partnership (MMP).

 
The Indian government is committed to working with the govt of the UK to make it easier for Indian residents who have overstayed their visa period in the UK to return home, consistent with a statement from the High Commission.


 
The UK has also agreed to uphold certain commitments as part of the Migration and Mobility Protocol, on which we await evident progress, the statement continued. “As per the info shared with the Home Office, as of date, action has been initiated on all of the cases mentioned the High Commission”.
