The Hippocrates Institute of Health (HHI) is a non-profit organization in West Palm Beach, Florida, United States, originally co-founded in 1956 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, by Lithuanian-born Victorus Kulvinas and Ann Wigmore.
The Hippocrates Health Institute is controversial for giving patients false hope about treating cancer with “natural” methods that are unproven and inconsistent despite claims otherwise.
In February and March 2015, cease-and-desist orders were issued against co-directors Brian and Anna-Maria Clement, both representing themselves as doctors, prompting them to terminate the unlicensed practice of medicine. was required. The Florida Department of Health formally notified the Hippocrates Health Institute that the latter withdrew and rejected the cease-and-desist orders due to lack of sufficient evidence.
Brian Clement and his institute have come under direct criticism for promoting a number of ineffective treatments that have been claimed to “reverse” cancer and multiple sclerosis. He is not a medical doctor. The way he treated them was widely and dangerously criticized. Former staff members of the institute have filed a lawsuit against Brian Clement for raising concerns about ethical wrongdoing in treating patients at the center.
About the Institute of Hippocrates
The Hippocrates Institute offers a variety of programs for guests to learn about healthy food choices and start their journey. The Mind, Body, and Spirit approach was founded at the Hippocrates Institute to make medicine food and food into medicine. Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, this fit stay features a tropical resort with an on-site spa.
The Hippocrates Institute has a 3-week Weight Loss Academy Program (HWLA) designed to eat the right foods so guests can eat as much as they want while remaining physically healthy. During the stay, guests will be coached by nutritionists, personal trainers, and medical staff to ensure that the HWLA is unique to each guest.
Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, HWLA is a resort set in a tropical garden. With plants and trees growing in every way, the resort makes guests feel like they are in their own little world. HWLA has 4 accommodation options: Royal Palm Villa, Poinciana Level, Magnolia Level, and Moringa Level.
Royal Palm Villa is a fully furnished townhome that is attached to the main building of the resort. This allows for quick, easy access to facilities while keeping your space private. The Royal Palm Villa measures 2,000 square feet and can be enjoyed privately or shared.
The Poinciana and Magnolia levels are similar to the Royal Palm Villas, except they are separate houses. These homes are fully furnished, and rooms can be rented or shared privately. The Poinciana has a bathroom attached to each bedroom, while the Magnolia has the feel of a hostel with rooms with designated bathrooms.
Moringa Level is a hostel-style accommodation. A room can hold up to 4 beds and can be rented privately or as a shared space with other guests. Bathrooms are located outside the rooms and Moringa Level offers a minimal amount of private space.
At HWLA, fitness is part of the program, but more as a compliment to the nutritional side of the program. Four hours of physical activity per day: 2 hours of cardio, 1 hour of strength, and 1 hour of yoga/meditation/stretch. In addition to these group classes, there are two private classes that will take place per week for guests with a personal trainer.
Fitness courses are offered on-site at the resort’s gym. Local LA Fitness has a day tour that can be booked in which guests can explore the classes and facilities offered by LA Fitness.
Depending on the time of day, meals vary in HWLA. There is no scheduled breakfast like lunch and dinner. Instead, guests can either eat breakfast at the resort or drink their daily green juice as their breakfast.
Lunch and dinner are buffet-style at Hippocrates Weight Loss Academy. The buffet is made up of organic, raw foods. HWLA prides itself on providing nutritional options that will help in rejuvenating the body. Raw ice cream is served as a dessert on Saturday nights.
One of HWLA’s signatures is their twice-daily wheatgrass juice. Wheatgrass juice is HWLA’s natural medicine as it contains more nutrients than any raw vegetable.
HWLA is focused on providing long-lasting results that start in this 3-week program. Results are driven heavily by the foods we eat, so nutritional lectures are aligned with the program in this fit stay. Over 30 lectures are offered that cover nutrition and overall healthy living.
This fit stay includes cooking courses. This allows guests to have a practical experience of making meals similar to the ones they will eat during their stay.
Onsite, HWLA has psychiatrists. These therapists meet with guests 3 times during FitStay. It allows guests to receive face-to-face assistance with their individual pre-existing medical conditions and to discuss natural treatment options.
