Rahul Gandhi is the leader of the Indian National Congress (INC) party and a Member of Parliament representing the Wayanad constituency of Kerala. Son of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul entered politics in 2004 when he first contested from Amethi. Amethi was previously represented by his mother and father.
Rahul Gandhi became the Vice President of the Congress Party in January 2013 and in December 2017 succeeded his mother as the President of the party. In July 2019, he stepped down following his party’s defeat in the general elections.

Rahul Gandhi kept a low public profile for much of his early life. He was homeschooled after the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984. He began his university education at St. Stephen’s College in Delhi and later attended Harvard University, but transferred to Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida after his father’s assassination in 1991. He received a bachelor’s degree in 1994, and a year later he received a master’s degree from Trinity College, Cambridge. He then worked with a consulting firm in the United Kingdom before returning to India and helping set up a firm in Mumbai.

In terms of inherited property, Rahul owns 2.34 acres of agricultural land jointly with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Mehrauli, New Delhi.
