Umesh Katti whose full name is Umesh Vishwanath Katti. He was an activist and politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Umesh Katti was the Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs in the Government of Karnataka. Apart from this, he also took over as the Forest Minister.
Early Biography of Umesh Katti
Umesh Katti was born on 14 March 1961. He passed away suddenly on 7th September 2022. Katti was a popular politician and was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly a total of six times.
Katti’s political career
Katti started his political career in 1985 after the death of his father Vishwanath Katti. Katti’s father was a political figure and a member of the Legislative Assembly.
In the 2013 general elections to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, he stood as a candidate from the Hukkeri assembly constituency and won by a margin of 81,810 votes.
He suffered a massive heart attack and Katti suffered a fatal heart attack on 6 September 2022, when he was in the bathroom where he was found unconscious. He was taken to the hospital for treatment where he breathed his last on 7 September 2022 at 00:01 IST at M S Ramaiah Hospital, Bangalore.
