This is how radio started

On 24 December 1906, Reginald Fesden (Canadian scientist) started the first broadcast of radio. It was nothing less than a wonder for the world. After this, in the year 1918, Lee de Forest started the world’s first radio station in Highbridge, New York. It is said that at that time the police there had closed it as illegal.

So right there, if we talk about India, then in the year 1936, the first government radio ‘Imperial Radio of India’ was started here. After the independence of the country, it was given the name of All India Radio or All India Radio. After this, there are a total of 214 Community Radio Broadcasting Centers (Community Radio) in India today.

In the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly, a resolution was adopted to declare 13 February as ‘World Radio Day’ and thus on 13 February every year World Radio Day was celebrated.
