Michelle Yeoh Biography -The early life of Michelle Yeoh
Yeoh was born Michelle Yeoh Chu-Kheng (August 6, 1962) to a wealthy Malaysian family. She was born as the daughter of Janet Yeoh and Yeoh Kian-Tek to parents from a local Malaysian Chinese family. Her father, who died on November 5, 2014, was an MCA lawyer and politician and founded the popular express bus service, Shree Mazoo. She is of Hokkien and Cantonese descent.
Since childhood, she was involved in various physical activities, including basketball and swimming, although she was particularly interested in ballet. As a teenager, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, but a back injury ended her dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer forever.

She later planned to open a ballet school, but in 1983 her mother entered her in the Miss Malaysia pageant. Yeoh won, and she later appeared in a commercial with Jackie Chan.
